What coaching?
Information Edge is offering assistance to searchers wanting advice on how and where to search and how to structure searches. We can assist with many searches, especially those requiring use of Datastar, Dialog, Factiva and Informit.

What do we need to know?
We need to know the results of your initial reference interview or your project brief including:

• The date range you need to search
• Whether you need total coverage (i.e. high recall) or a few relevant references (i.e. high precision)
• The background to the research project

• We will analyse the search and recommend a search strategy and sources to use and how to conduct the search.
• We will test our recommendations before sending them to you.

• A turnaround time of 24 hours will be guaranteed from the moment we accept the job.

• Sometimes coaching may be required for analysing or constructing a search. Sometimes it may be that clients do not have access to the most appropriate sources for one-off searches.
